Why do Marias Medical Center and Marias Healthcare Services, Inc have multiple portals?

In order to provide you with as much access to your health information as possible, two portals are needed for the two separate computer systems used within the Marias organization. The NextGen portal connects you to information from your clinics visits; the Meditech portal provides you with details about outpatient services and hospital stays.

Since there are two portals, do I have to sign up twice?

Yes, unfortunately due to the 2 separate systems, you will need to sign up for the Marias Healthcare portal at the clinic. MMC portal can be accessed as mentioned above.

What can I do through the NextGen/clinic portal?

1. View and request clinic appointments
2. Ask questions about clinic bills
3. Request and view electronic clinic medical records
4. Receive appointment reminders

What can I do in the Meditech/hospital and outpatient services portal?

1. Update personal information
2. Review some test results
3. View appointments
4. View billing information and account statements

What if I need medical advice?

The portals are meant to make your medical information more accessible for you. They are not meant to solicit medical advice or to replace your visit to see your healthcare provider. If you have questions about your health or medications, make an appointment to see your primary care provider to discuss your concerns.

How do I know which portal to use?

Once your accounts are set up, you will receive e-mail notifications when there is activity, such as new test results, messages or appointments. By following the instructions you receive in the e-mail alerts, you will be directed to the proper portal.

Who else will see my portal account?

Your accounts can only be accessed using your password(s). Just as with anything that is password-protected, your patient portal is your personal account, only accessible to you and whoever you give your account information to. If you wish to keep yours private, be sure to protect your log-in information. If you want to give someone else permission to see your account, you can set up proxy access.

What is a proxy access?

No one is automatically granted access to another person's information. Even parents and legal guardians of minors must request proxy access to view a child's account. Proxy access enables individuals to view a child's, family member's or companion's online health information.

How do I set up proxy access?

Proxy access cannot be granted online. Consenting parties must fill out the proper paperwork in person at Marias Medical Center.
